All set for Doha Masters

Team has finally arrived in Qatar earlier this week. Fortunately, all of our players tested negative before the flight, and we were able to take off to Doha with full roster.

Groups and schedules are out, and now everything is set for the opening on friday. As we mentioned earlier, Liman like others had to go through various procedures because of this tournament, so we had our captain Mr. Robot join us and explain how it’s looking in Doha for now.

Stefan Stojačić:

“Upon our arrival in Doha we had mandatory isolation until our PCR tests came. After we finally got them, everyone was fortunately negative, but Stefan Kojic’s test was missing. It was probably due to mistakenly given files on the airport, so we had to extend our quarantine which lasted for almost 3 full days.

We finally got the approval to leave our rooms and train. Similar situation happened in Hungary when Aleksandar Ratkov’s initial tests showed positive, so we had to isolate ourselves until the start of the tournament. It turned out that it didn’t bother us too much and we played almost perfectly. We expect the same result here.

Tournament starts on friday, our first match is with Lusail from Qatar. It is important to address that Kostas Vasileiadis, former Euroleage player for Olympiakos and Efes, is playing for this team. Our second match is played against, to me, very familliar squad from Philippines.

This clash with Manila is going to be unusual because that’s the team formed of national players, which I used to coach while working there. We spent around 3 months together, and now I have to play against the team that uses my tactics and understanding.”
